Such an airplane costs around 3,750 Bitcoin.
A private aircraft distributor now enables customers to buy multi-million dollar jets using Bitcoin
According to a report of the news platform Business Insider September 13, sold the US company Aviatrade actually an upgraded 2014er Gulfstream G650ER for 40 million US dollars. This currently corresponds to around 3,750 Bitcoin Lifestyle. Amazon boss Jeff Bezos and Tesla CEO Elon Musk are said to have the same model that can travel up to 7,500 nautical miles. That’s roughly the distance between Los Angeles and Sydney.
„We accept Bitcoin as a means of payment for all Bizjet purchases,“ as it says on the Aviatrade website
Aviatrade President Philip Rushton said the use of Fiat to purchase a private plane is restricted in some countries. Cryptocurrencies are easy to handle from a regulatory perspective.
The company doesn’t give any specific prices for its aircraft, but crypto traders don’t have to „settle for“ the Gulfstream. Aviatrade is currently offering 13 other private business jets for sale, including two Bombardier Global 7500s. In June 2019 , prices for them were $ 72.8 million, or around 6,800 BTC.
Aircraft distribution isn’t the only company in the industry that accepts crypto. In June , Kaizen Aerospace Chairman Fabrizio Poli announced in an interview with Bitcoin scout Andreas Antonopoulos that Kaizen would accept „payments in Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies“ for its charter and cargo services or when buying a private jet.
Antonopoulos compared selling planes worth millions to selling a Mini Cooper for crypto:
„They did a short test drive,“ said the Bitcoin scout. „When they came back I signed the title knowing full well that the money I was getting was real, forgery-proof, and that it was entirely mine and could not be taken back. That made the transaction very easy. I can well imagine that this can easily be carried over to buying or selling an aircraft. „
